Welcome to the first female Orthopaedic Surgeons’ Society.
We are currently being called an Interest group as we have non-SAOA members.
The main purpose of this society is mentoring one another, improving the registrar experience and converting those medical officer posts to registrar posts.
We have some secondary aims and more will come as we hear what your needs are.
Current secondary aims include:
Providing gender specific national guidelines for issues like radiation in pregnancy.
Attracting female medical students and junior doctors to Orthopaedics
Supporting each other through networking.
Research collaboration.
We are learning as we go along and thus this group will develop and change as we go along.
Ultimately, we are uplifting women to believe they are as kick-ass as they actually are.
